Prior Bands

    This page is dedicated to presenting various other bands that Jerome has been involved with over the years. This is by no means a complete listing, but rather, a sampling of groups that represent interesting milestones or showcase the bassist’s stylistic versatility over the years. 

~ The Kip Green Experience ~

    This is the album demo session recorded at Rainbow Recording in 1983 and mentioned in the Perimeter Bio. Kip’s guitar style was heavily influenced by the music of Jimi Hendrix, and his project reflected the energy and bombast of the 1960’s rock icon. The young pre-Perimeter Dalbeck-Gonyeau rhythm section expertly toyed with timing and syncopated fills giving the songs their unique blend of old/modern rock styles. This session was also the start of Perimeter’s relationship with the studio. 

~ Combo Plate ~

    Combo Plate was a blues and R and B cover band that had been going for about 10 years when Jerome joined them in 1986. The band played 2 to 4 nights a week, sometimes 5, on a year round basis, skipping only 2 or 3 weeks in a year. Playing in this group led to his first TV appearance, with the band performing guitarist Joe Richards original music on Seattle’s public access station. This was a time when the era of weekly and all weekend gigs was coming to a close. His two and a half years in the band were filled with hundreds of nights of performances, giving the bassist not only tons of stage experience, but countless memories of the privilege of performing in such a musically rich bygone era. 

~ Dana Anton ~

    Dana Anton is a vocalist/pianist who was living in the Seattle are in the 1990’s when Jerome was introduced to her. Known for her Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks influences, her music has that introspective vibe. While rehearsing with the musicians for a studio session, Anton was booked to perform prior to James Taylor. Not only was this a great opportunity for all, but it served as Jerome’s first large venue performance, taking place at Washington State’s 20,000 seat Gorge Amphitheater.  

~ Elkhorn Lodge ~ 

    After moving to California in 2005, one of the bands he played in was Elkhorn Lodge, an original southern rock/country band. The four piece band played original material along with select covers. Although Jerome had to leave the band after a brief stint, it stands out as a highlight for him. He was able to record an EP with the band which was heard by someone at Comcast. They liked the music so much that they taped two live performance videos and placed them on their On Demand music channel.  

~ The Northern Doors ~

    The Northern Doors was a Doors tribute band based in Northern CA. Most people don’t know that the original band used several session players on bass guitar to fatten up the keyboard bass on their recordings. If you listen closely to the records, you can hear this duplicating technique. Also, some songs have clear bass guitar parts playing separate from the keyboards. The early 1965 iteration of the band had more than the 4 players known by the public today, including on bass guitar. It was the goal of the Northern Doors to duplicate this recorded sound on live shows. Jerome agreed with this approach and joined the band. The group was well received by Doors fans, including some who were there for the real thing.
